The Enneagram for Therapists, Counselors, Coaches and Guides with David Daniels, Terry Saracino and Marion Gilbert When: May 1-6 Location: Vallombrosa Center, Menlo Park, CA Contact: drdaniels@batnet.com In this groundbreaking training, participants will learn a new approach for using the Enneagram effectively to bring about growth of clients and self. This framework, the Universal Growth Process (UGP), is a practical and powerful model interweaving four components: awareness, acceptance, action and adherence. Applying the UGP, the nine type structures and somatic elements of each type, you will identify where clients are “stuck,” and clarify and expand your methods for creating lasting change. This training also focuses on understanding your own type bias and increasing your capacity for presence and receptivity. Taught in the Narrative Tradition, this training allows participant representatives of each type to describe their themes, issues and processes. The format will include a rich variety of panels, short didactics, guided interactions, somatic exercises, meditation and reflection, practice sessions and discussion. You will learn:
PREREQUISITE: a) Part 1 of the Enneagram Professional Training Program (also known as the Enneagram Intensive) or b) experience with other Enneagram programs with permission of instructors. |

Embodied Enneagram Retreat with Marion Gilbert & Peter O'hanrahan Time: Labor Day Weekend, Friday August 29th- Monday Sept. 1st Location: At a peacefull Ranch in Nevada City, close to the swimming holes of the Yuba River Cost: $595 before August 1st, $625 after Contact: call or e-mail Mieke at (530)274-2320/info@springhillpt.com The Enneagram shows us how personality and character structure are based in three centers, or three parts of who we are mind, heart and body. All aspects of our lives, including our relationships, our inner work, and our daily experience reflect this holistic reality. However, in our modern culture, the rational mind is center stage work with feelings and body awareness is often neglected. The Embodied Enneagram Retreat provides an opportunity to go deeply into the three centers body, mind and heart by combining mindfulness with a somatic, or body based approach to healing ourselves and our relationship. We will use the breath to develop sensory awareness, to relax and open the body, to discover resistance, and to engage feelings, thoughts and belief systems. Through presentation, discussion, and experiential work, we will explore personality type in all three centers and discuss approaches to healing, trauma resolution, and personal development. Lecture Topics include: · Psychological, emotional and somatic defenses for each personality type. · Healing methods and trauma resolution applied to the Enneagram. · Wilhelm Reich’s seven segments of body armor. · The importance of internal and external “holding environments.”
You will learn: · How the Enneagram and somatic work combined can support your relationships and your personal and professional practice. · Self-help techniques for working with the body, the breath, and the emotions. · Mindfulness practice with embodied presence.
Who will benefit: · Students of the Enneagram who want to expand their knowledge of the nine personality types, deepen their personal work and learn body-based practices for healing and growth. · Therapists and health professionals who want to apply the intelligence of the Enneagram system to empower their work with clients.
A major focus of the retreat will be experiential work including: · Experiencing the nine types and three subtypes through sensory awareness and movement. · Learning to develop somatic (‘felt sense’) awareness. · Practicing Grounding and Orienting presence. · Developing Internal and External resources. · Providing and receiving support for and from each other. · Guided breath work sessions Because some of the exercises will involve lying down on the floor, please bring a thin foam mat, or thick blanket, and also bring a small towel. Please wear comfortable clothing. The retreat will be held in a peaceful ranch close to the beautiful Yuba River. There will be relaxation time for river play, hikes and movement sessions each day. Please bring your own musical instruments. Read some of the comments of our 2007 group 'This weekend was really wonderful and has made such a positive impact on my life.
